Ballston Spa

The Village of Ballston Spa sits on land that was once used as hunting and fishing grounds by the Mohawk Tribe of Native Americans. It wasn’t discovered by Europeans until the late 1700s, when surveyors “discovered” what they called the first mineral spring in America. The springs became known for their supposed medicinal powers, which attracted people from around the country.
